Although I've owned up in recent years to easy listening/schmaltz music such as Humperdinck, I still have jarring feelings about these Spanish (Mexican mostly I think) songs appropiations. My father, a tango and bolero singer himself would roll in his grave (well he thought The Beatles were some crazy long hair youngsters - although.. "good harmonies"). I grew up with his records of Los Panchos and Javier Solis, so this sounds strange all the time. Be it translated to English or sung partially or totally in Spanish, which is probably worse: only Nat King Cole has me there, as smooth as he is with his accent (as for those doing their English songs in Spanish only ABBA wins, of course). Besame Mucho seems to fail in every version. But definitely Spanish Harlem, the song, is worth the whole lot.
