Them were indeed fans--Van Morrison went as far as to say that his band's move to play heavy dark R&B was inspired by the Sect. Aside from Don's cap they had the longest hair of any band in 64. And I wish Craine had used his given name Mick O'Donnell instead. To me it's much more rock n roll. But I suspect there may have been a bit of Gaelophobia going on in London those days, and to be Irish was a hinderance to success.
