Hm, The Easybeats certainly did not catch my attention before (aside from "Friday On My Mind", of course), so thank you for this review. Now I somewhat wish for Slade cover of "I'm A Madman" - I feel Easybeats somewhat lack the proper vocal power for their own song, in this case, and Noddy Holder had the right mix of "clown" and "lion", too, so he'd be a good fit for this song. Well, power of Neural Networks to the rescue someday, I guess.

"one... two... three... six! Sorry, ’arry!" remind my of one of my favourite The Monkees song, "Gonna Buy Me A Dog" - they also have a countdown joke (along with tons more - it's really more of a comedy skit than a song) in there.

I guess it's just personal perspective, but I find track listing for this album somewhat confusing - so many song titles I know, or that are very close, but they're different songs (e.g. "It's So Easy" - Buddy Holly, "Cry, Cry, Cry" - Johnny Cash, "A Letter" is subtly different from The Box Tops' "The Letter", of course, but not on the first look).

"rocking out with the swagger of a ‘You Really Got Me’ but a much more humorous and tongue-in-cheek attitude." I suspect You Got It Off Me is a slower drunker parody of You Really Got Me.

And is I'm a Madman in 12/8 time? There's not any waltzes in Brit Rock, so clearly ahead of the game there.

Great band. How about a look at some other Aussies, starting with The Masters Apprentices?
