Gotta love ABBA. We hardcore rock fans wouldn't admit liking them, I mean we lived Zep, Purple, Yes, etc, the cool bands, and with good reason. Listening to ABBA was like going out with a certain girl to (you know), but you didn't want anyone to find out.

Even with all that music, ABBA was so dam refreshing. Anyone who could penetrate to the top in those days had to be something spectacular, they were, even if the rock dudes didn't want to admit it.

Yeah your 6-year old self had good taste, and was wise to be dumbstruck, I mean we still are (and people way younger than us). Such is the power of ABBA's music, and, yes their visuals. I don't really think there's another comparable pop artist in quality/longevity to The Beatles (Beatlemania Beatles). Their music and delivery are really intoxicating. I remember listening to SOS as a kid (which is a bit confusing as I also remember this other SOS, quite a bit more disco https://youtu.be/nyR3L2owcA8) even before probably than The Fab Four. Hypnotic. PS: I had not seen that Tiger video that I recall. And I've seen a lot of ABBA! One of their best deep tracks (That TIGER! TIGEEER! Agnetha scream at the end..) along with Eagle, probably. I mean they were good with Animal songs too, right?

Yes, well, good for you George to not be afraid to admit talent where talent lies -- even if some of us were far from convinced that evening somewhere in early 1975 when ABBA first appeared on our TV screens. They did have talent and they went on to prove it over & over again. Even John & Paul (the latter especially) admitted they were happy that the level of popular music composition was being upheld into the 1970's.

I won't be watching the films, I'm afraid, though might just binge-watch the original broadcast of Dancing Queen, which I still find utterly hypnotic on all levels. Long Live ABBA and all that but honestly, their decision to go along with an eternal existence via AI is cringe worthy. Not an example for all to follow!
