But how do we know that they actually heard this record? Do you just mean Ike's general style and not this album itself (that would make more sense)?

Well, don't take it too literally, of course, though I'm pretty sure they all at least heard 'Prancing', which was a single.

Hendrix actually played guitar for the Kings of Rhythm for a short while (soon after this album), before he was fired by Ike for (not surprisingly) drawing too much attention to himself instead of the boss.
